CUSTOM "MARIO" BY GEE WHIZ CUSTOMS

Check out this amazing custom "Mario" figure by Bleau Aquino from GeeWhiz Customs.  Read below how Bleau came to creating this amazing figure.

When you talk about video games, one of the most iconic characters that tops that list is definitely Nintendo's Mario.  Realistically, could it be anyone else?

The famous short, pudgy Italian-American plumber from New York City has been Nintendo's mascot since 1983, and has gone on to become the most recognizable character in all of video gaming.  Mario and all of his friends - his brother Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario, Waluigi, and Yoshi - have all gone on to be household names thanks to multiple generations of gamers who grew up playing the game.  Games starring Mario have sold 262 million copies, making it the most successful video game franchise in history.  Since his debut in 1981, Mario is the original game character that has appeared in over 200 games since his creation.  The future of video gaming isn't a certain thing, but you can guarantee that it's going to involve Mario one way or another.

In the 1/6 scale version, GeeWhiz Customs envisioned Mario as a real person as opposed to how he has been popularly designed, with exaggerated and cartoony features.  While live-action versions of Mario have appeared in both cinema and television, we believe our version stays true to form and pays the proper homage to everyone's favorite plumber from the Mushroom Kingdom.

To top it all off, our Mario custom figure debuted and bagged First Place at the recently concluded Collection 2014 Custom Figure Contest initiated and spearheaded by Pinoy One Sixth Kolectors Community.  A big thankful shout out goes to all who appreciated this and most especially to the organizers and judges for the recognition given.

MORE FROM PUNCH CUSTOMS

I've been been doing a bit more work on my latest customs.  Check it.

US MARINE SCOUT SNIPER
I gave my US Marine Scout Sniper a small, but cool, upgrade.  A nice ear piece and throat mic.  I think it's a nice touch.

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVOR #3 "JASON OMARI"
I fiddled a bit more with Zombie Apocalypse Survivor #3, now know as Jason Omari.  I gave him a shemagh to keep him warm during the cold Northwest weather.  (Note: The story of these characters will take place in the Northwest.  Stay tuned for more backstory.)

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVOR #2 "SHERIFF LOCKLEAR"
I've added more gear to my Zombie Apocalypse Survivor #2, now known as Sheriff Locklear from Wahkiakum County, WA.  I added some custom shoulder patches from OneSixthScaleKing and a beautiful custom shotgun ammo bandolier and belt and holster from the very talented Gustavo Bautista Ponce.

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SURVIVOR #1
I worked a bit more on Zombie Apocalypse Survivor #1, no official name yet.  I gave him a climbing rope and a wrapped the scarf around his head to keep him warm.

"GENERATION KILL" INSPIRED US MARINE IN BAGHDAD - COMPLETED
I finally got around to weathering my US Marine in Baghdad inspired by the HBO miniseries "Generation Kill".
